IPL 2025: Auction Prices, Squads, and Final Teams

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction concluded on November 25th, 2024, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The two-day mega auction saw franchises spending a total of ₹467.95 crore to build their squads for the upcoming season. The auction featured 574 players, including 367 Indians and 207 overseas players.

Auction Highlights

Most Expensive Player: Rishabh Pant was the star of the auction, fetching a record-breaking ₹27 crore from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Pant's credentials as a match-winner and natural leader made him the most sought-after player.

Other Big Spenders: Shreyas Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for ₹26.75 crore, while Venkatesh Iyer was re-bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹23.75 crore. Indian bowlers also saw high demand, with Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal both fetching ₹18 crore each from PBKS.

Young Sensation: Rajasthan Royals made headlines by signing 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for ₹1.10 crore, making him one of the youngest players to ever feature in the IPL.

Final Squads

Mumbai Indians (MI): Retained key players like Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, and added international stars Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar. Young talents Naman Dhir and Robin Minz bring depth and future promise to the team.

Rajasthan Royals (RR): Retained key players like Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal, and made significant investments in Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga. The selection of Vaibhav Suryavanshi showcases their eye for future stars.

Punjab Kings (PBKS): Went all out in the auction, securing Shreyas Iyer for ₹26.75 crore and Yuzvendra Chahal for ₹18 crore. Retaining stars like Arshdeep Singh provides consistency2.
