England reaches final after beating Netherlands 2-1

England has advanced to another European Championship final after a dramatic, come-from-behind victory that even had King Charles III on the edge of his seat. In the 92nd minute, substitute Ollie Watkins scored the winning goal to lift England to a 2-1 triumph over the Netherlands, securing a spot in the title match against Spain.

The English squad has displayed remarkable resilience throughout the knockout stage, scoring late equalizers and prevailing in penalty shootouts to reach the final. Their supporters back home are surely on the verge of heart palpitations as the national team inches closer to its first major title since the 1966 World Cup.

As King Charles noted in his congratulatory message, the team would do well to secure victory without the need for any last-minute heroics or penalty drama, to ease the collective stress on the nation. Nonetheless, Watkins' decisive strike was certainly fit for a king, as the young striker seized his opportunity off the bench to send England through.

The final against Spain promises to be an immense challenge, but the English are one step away from making history on foreign soil, having previously won the World Cup at Wembley and lost the Euro 2020 final there. Captain Harry Kane summed it up best: "One more game to make history."
